Warsaw: reconnected
It was amazing to meet up with an old friend and his wife (Lukasz & Ania) that I had met on the subway from JFK - NYC a couple years ago. I didn’t think I would post about someone I knew personally, but after talking with him and his response to my happiness question, I just had to.
Lukasz picked me up from the airport and took me to a nearby trendy market called Nocny. As we were eating some local street food, I was explaining to him the theme of my 30-day challenge. I told him that I was talking to random people I met along the way about happiness. To give him a better understanding I asked him the question: what’s one thing you do every day that makes you happy? He thought for a brief moment and responded “my wife’s smile." "Every day, that is the one thing that brightens up my world completely and I would do anything just to make her smile.” He told me: “a lot of smiles these days are a bit forced or fake (especially with plastic surgery) and her smile is completely real and genuine.” I have to say that both of their smiles are super contagious and you can’t help but smile and be happy when you’re in their presence.
The amazing thing was later that night, he asked his wife the same question. Not knowing that he had answered my same question earlier that day, she responded with the exact same answer. His smile is also what brings her happiness every day :)
This trip has been beyond eye opening and enlightening. To witness the power of the mind and how on this journey, coincidences can show us we’re on the right path.
Quote of the Day
“Unconditional love is, by definition, unconditional. Free from any judgement and limitless in nature, it’s the essence of mind itself.”
